Vocational/Day Program Services Vocational services will be provided to all residents within the Caprock program. This aspect of the program is designed to assist consumers in multiple ways. While it is Caprock policy to provide these services, it is up to the individual to actively participate in and make the most of the services offered to them. Lawn Crews Each consumer is given the opportunity to be gainfully employed within one of the programs Lawn Crews. This will serve to assist individuals with learning and improving upon various work skills. As well as to provide a regular paycheck, thus promoting increased independence. Lawn crew operations are overseen by Caprock staff. Consumer willingness and ability to take direction from supervising staff is required. Life Skills During winter months and times when the lawn crews are not completing jobs, Caprock will continue to provide skill building and learning activities to consumers. These activities will consist of curriculum based worksheets, hands on art/craft projects, and when appropriate, community involvement. Caprock staff will also assist individuals with person specific, goal-based programs as identified in their IP. Consumers Consumers are expected to be careful and respectful when using any and all property belonging to or provided by Caprock. Should damage occur to lawn equipment or other supplies due to negligence, it will be the responsibility of the individual to replace or repair them. Vocational activities and opportunities are intended to assist consumers with achieving a higher level of independence. It should be understood by individuals receiving services, that progression in the level system will be based in part on their participation and progression within vocational standards.
